I (Qmoa) originally thought"Gay Photography Circle"Sexual harassment stories are just an old problem in this industry; I never expected to encounter one two years ago with someone I was working with.Male photographer (hereinafter referred to as H, nicknamed Yellow Chair, whose hobby is photographing male bears) In the collaboration, I also becamevictimWhat worries me even more is that during this period I have gradually observed that he may be involved in...Filming and inappropriate contact with minorsThese experiences made me realize that this wasn't just a matter of crossing boundaries, but something much more serious.Child protectionquestion.
After a long period of struggle and reflection, I've decided to muster the courage to document the entire incident. Not to incite conflict, but to prevent further harm and to warn the gay community to be vigilant about this photographer, H. Please take a few minutes to read this full account. If you ever have the opportunity to work with him in the future, please be sure to prioritize your safety!
◼︎ Incident 1: H sexually harassed me in the workplace, November 20, 2023, at a motel in Tucheng (mutual photoshoot)
Photographer H offered a reciprocal photoshoot. Since it was my first time having a portrait taken, I asked another friend to accompany me. The shoot itself went smoothly, but he was about twenty minutes late (and he was frequently late for subsequent collaborations), forcing us to rush to pack up at the end. While we were packing, H sneakily approached me and suddenly asked from behind:Can we play a game?"
I froze, unsure how to react, and could only awkwardly reply, "We're too late!" I had already clearly refused, but he still leaned closer:"Can he just hold me and ejaculate while he's holding me?"I was so scared that I ignored him and hurriedly packed up. What's even more outrageous is that another friend was there at the time, and it was even the first time I met H and we worked together.

What's even more astonishing is that a few hours after the shoot ended, he sent another message. He said we could "get together for chicken" next time (???) and then texted me again. He added a very formulaic apology and admitted his wrongdoing, stating that his actions after filming were "inappropriate."I felt very unreasonable and ashamed. From the very beginning of the message, I felt absolutely no genuine apology, only utter contempt and disrespect. Even now, thinking back on this incident or seeing those photos still makes me feel disgusted and uncomfortable. (As shown in the image above, and also vaguely mentioned on a podcast).
◼︎ Incident 2: H sexually harassed a model at work, February 27, 2024, at the Beimen Shimin Hotel (photographed by a foreign guest).
A few days before the shoot, while discussing equipment via text message, H suddenly asked me:Can I have sex with a certain model by patting her?I wanted to insert it into him during his rest to help him relax.I was stunned and immediately replied to him:As a photographer, you're being unprofessional. Don't try to make money and have fun at the same time."(Screenshot below), I really don't understand: Shouldn't a normal photographer be thinking about how to do their job well?"But all he could think about was how to use the filming location and his position to satisfy his own selfish desires..This kind of behavior disqualifies one from being a professional!

The shooting day went smoothly. But during breaks from filming, he kept looking for opportunities to touch one of the models.I saw it all, but I didn't know what to do at the time. Now I really regret not reacting in time.
◼︎ Incident 3: H repeatedly invited a certain underage student to be photographed (the following are all based on conversation evidence).
On dates such as January 22, April 18, and May 1, 2024, H repeatedly expressed on Line her desire to substitute for someone."Underage male high school student from a sports academy"Taking photos. I always clearly stated "minors are not allowed to participate," and even...Laws related to child sexual exploitationHe knew at the time that the other person was a minor, and I could only try to make up other reasons to fob him off and break his resolve. But...H still tried to skirt the edge of the law, suggesting that we film it first and then release it after he comes of age—a ridiculous and morally reprehensible suggestion.(See image below)

Until June 19, 2024,I was surprised to see nude photos of the underage male student taken by H appearing online (not in collaboration with a brand).Based on our collaborative relationship, I reminded him again that this behavior might involve legal issues and asked him to remove the content or remove the tags. Afterwards, I saw H create more works for the same person (the description mentioned the start of the school year), but I don't know if they were adults at the time of the shoot. (Evidence has been preserved.)

Despite my serious reminders about the consequences of his actions, H did not directly address my concerns, nor did he make any explicit promise to remove the relevant works. The matter was ultimately left unresolved. But my concern is that there will be more underage victims.(These photos were even used for promotional events at bars; screenshots are available.)
Concerns about this circle
What is truly worrying, however, is that H, as a professional photographer, continues to trespass and potentially break the law on set, yet remains active in this industry. This is completely contrary to the "professional," "polite," and "highly ethical" image he usually cultivates..
Not to mention H's numerous unprofessional behaviors:
- A manufacturer reported that H misremembered the event date and overslept, arriving at the scene to film only after the event had already started.
- He was late for countless photoshoots in collaboration with our brand.
- Forgot to bring equipment and props
- He frequently smoked on indoor filming sets.
- Inertia in submitting works late... and other unprofessional practices.

Waiting for H for almost an hour
The subtle interactions between the photographer and the model were something everyone tacitly knew about. If it's mutually agreeable, then of course it's OK, and the contract clearly defines the reasonable scope of the agreement. I also made arrangements for future collaborations. often(Remind him to be mindful of body boundaries),butHe abused his photography skills, trying to take advantage of others' bodies outside of shooting hours, which is not the behavior of a professional photographer.
Attempt to report and handle
After the incident, I tried to report it through the police and social work systems (incident three), hoping to get professional intervention. But even though I had complete screenshots and conversation records, without the victim's identity information and without the victim's willingness to file a lawsuit, the entire process could not be initiated.
This made me realize very deeply that while the law protects the privacy of those involved, it also allows those whose behavior is disorderly and even continues to harm others to...
They can continue hunting prey in the gray areas of the system.
A while ago, I sawHuang Zih-jiao and various MeTooIt was this incident that made me realize that this matter should not be tolerated, so I chose to write down the details so that more people can face up to the long-standing problem of the "gay photography community" that everyone knows about but doesn't talk about, and I also hope that no one else will have the same experience as me.
If you are to collaborate with H in the future, it is strongly recommended that you have someone accompany you during filming, and be prepared to gather evidence in case of any incidents to ensure your personal safety!
This post will likely be flagged as containing sensitive words, so if you have relevant experience and want to help more victims, please share it. Brand's solemn statement
I want to reiterate that in the past, I have always strived to comply with all cooperation agreements and laws in brand management, and all filming and interactions have been conducted with mutual consent and in a transparent manner. In the early stages of the brand, there may have been some flaws in cooperation communication and operations, but as the person in charge of the brand, I have always maintained a humble attitude of reviewing and constantly adjusting to continuously improve.
Since its inception, Bearback Studio has always adhered to my original intention of sharing and creating content about bears, striving to create a content creation brand that belongs to Taiwan and go international.
I sincerely hope this incident won't extinguish my passion, but will give me the courage to keep moving forward. World Peace!
